Arthur A. Catraio was born in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. A Philosopher and Political Scientist with a master’s degree in Philosophy and Society from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, he specialized in International law through clinics at Oxford University and Harvard Law School.

Fábio Paiva is a teacher, text producer and reviser. Graduated with a degree in Linguistics and Portuguese from the University of São Paulo he also has a degree in Portuguese teaching. Having worked in educational and editorial sectors, he is currently interested in human sciences, especially social and public matters. He has published the poem “Unidade” with which he won the contest Concurso de Poesias UNIVAP / Cassiano Ricardo 2002.

José Guerra is a Guatemalan/Canadian alumnus from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris and a graduate student at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. His main focus is on violence in the Central-American urban context and in political affairs of the Mesoamerican region.

Having an interest in languages, literature and education, Nádia Gonfiantini is a very passionate Portuguese teacher. She graduated with a degree in Languages and Literature from the University of São Paulo, where she had the opportunity to learn about and specialize in Italian culture. Her first year master’s essay, from Sorbonne Nouvelle University, focused on the representation of sorrowful childhood in the works of Giovanni Verga and Italo Calvino.

With a continuous interest in visual arts and film, Rita Catunda studied Social Communication, specializing in film from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP) in São Paulo. She continues her studies in Arts and Languages at l’École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris.

Rodrigo Oliveira is an economist graduate from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo and is presently pursuing his master’s degree in History and Civilizations at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). His research is mainly focused on political economy.

Shahnaz Ojaghi is a sociologist and pursues a master’s degree in Gender, Politics and Sexuality at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. Her studies are currently centered on women and immigration, with particular interest in women’s situation in the Middle East. Her research covers the integration of Iranian women who arrived in France between 1997 and 2013.

Shirley (Hsueh Li) Wang is a critical theorist and advocate for disadvantaged children. Born in Taipei, Taiwan and raised in California, she received her master’s in Gender and Women’s Studies with a specialization in Gender and Justice from the American University in Cairo (Egypt) and her bachelor’s degrees in English, Philosophy, and Sociology from California Lutheran University. With a special interest in the philosophical implications of justice and its manifestations within society, she enjoys critically deconstructing social phenomenon in an attempt to understand complex human relationships.

Waldir Lisboa Rocha is a Sociology master’s student at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris. His current researches focus on media, its influences and connections with democracy. Graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of São Paulo, he was a co-founder and Operational Director at the enterprise Luminae between 2008 and 2012 before he decided to turn to social sciences.
